ATI (Adaptive Technology Inc.)

ATI, (Adaptive Technology Inc.) is a special interest affiliate of the Missouri Council of the Blind.

We meet annually at the MCB convention in order to conduct business, here from guest speakers of the adaptive technology world and provide members with the opportunity to win some great door prizes.

ATI sponsors the exhibit hall at the MCB convention inviting vendors of many different companies to demonstrate and make available their adaptive technology products.

ATI also sends out an annual newsletter to it's members called, The Adaptive Technology Messenger. This newsletter is full of information on new products, web sites for accessing software and tutorials and general tips and tricks to help make your life as independent as possible.

To join ATI just come to our annual meeting at the MCB convention and pay the dues required or you can go to: http://www.moblind.org/forms/ati_membership.php and register on-line and pay your dues via PayPal.

A list serve has been created to serve the ATI members with news of the adaptive technology world. Whether it be new hardware or software that has been made available to the visually impaired, or tips and tricks on how to make these products work for them.

We will also be able to talk about main stream applications and how to use those products with adaptive technology.

Although the list has mainly been created for the ATI members, it is open to the public and anyone is welcome to join.

Members of the list may post questions about adaptive products such as Jaws, Windoweyes, note takers, braille displays, braille embossers, magnification

programs, celluar phone software such as Mobile Speaks and Talks, or any other adaptive product used by the visually impaired.

We also welcome announcements concerning new releases of software and hardware products in the adaptive technology world.
